“Energ-IT – Models and Actions” event, Milan, December 11, 2009
Neptuny will participate to the event “Energ-IT Models and Actions for reducing IT energy consumption” which will take place on 11th December at Politecnico di Milano, in Milan (Italy).
This event is sponsored by Fondazione Politecnico di Milano together with Regione Lombardia, the regional government of Lombardy, and will see representatives from the industry, the iinstitutions and the academic worlds that belong to a focus group on green IT and Green e-competences.
During this event, preliminary results of the project named “Energ-IT”, aimed at promoting tools for green-oriented Data Centers and at providing best practices, tools and methodologies for Energy Management, will be presented by Neptuny and other members of this project.
Neptuny has been interested in Green IT since long. Indeed, its flagship product, Caplan, in addition to adopting SPECpower, the first industry-standard SPEC benchmark that evaluates the power and performance characteristics of volume server class and multi-node class computers, is possibly the only Capacity Planning solution that can take into account facilities KPIs (i.e. factors such as power, cooling, raised floor space and load or rack space) in its analyses, models and reports so as to effectively support Green IT initiatives. Moreover, Neptuny is also a member of SPEC association.
