Neptuny will participate to “ICT for Energy Efficiecy” event which will take place on 26th March at Politecnico di Milano, in Milan (Italy). The conference will take place during the EU Sustainable Energy Week (http://www.eusew.eu/) the reference event for sustainable issues in Europe. The conference will be aimed at presenting ICT solutions to increase energy efficiency in the manufacturing and service industries. The energy efficiency is not only a key economical and social topic but it translates also into an opportunity to reduce production costs: a “green-oriented ICT” approach enables companies and organisations to implement innovative production processes, which are efficient from both energetic and economic perspectives.
During the conference, Neptuny and Beta80 will present initial findings of the project “Energ-IT: models and actions to reduce energy consumption”, aimed at promoting tools for green-oriented Data Centers and at providing best practices, tools and methodologies for Energy Management.

Paolo Cremonesi – Neptuny
Neptuny has been interested in Green IT since long. Indeed, its flagship product, Caplan, in addition to adopting SPECpower, the first industry-standard SPEC benchmark that evaluates the power and performance characteristics of volume server class and multi-node class computers, is possibly the only Capacity Planning solution that can take into account facilities KPIs (i.e. factors such as power, cooling, raised floor space and load or rack space) in its analyses, models and reports so as to effectively support Green IT initiatives. Moreover, Neptuny is also a member of SPEC association.
